Esmeralda Hotel: Graffiti Hall of Fame

If there is a HOF (A graffiti/ street art Hall Of Fame) on Bonaire, it would be Hotel Esmeralda, locally known as the ghost hotel.

The hotel was left half finished, scandals all around and people still waiting for their money. It is filled with graffiti and street art. A favorite place to practice, try something out, leave a tag or a doodle.

There are wonderful finished pieces as well to be found like Dodici’s smoking man, ground floor near the gym. And when you take the stairs to the first floor there are many large murals by many more local and visiting artist (such as by Kenneth Letsoin a.k.a. naamloozz).

Please be aware that the area is private and not all parts of the building is safe!

The View - By Dodici, 2020, Hotel Esmeralda

Location: Backside of the building, ground floor, first room to your left.

This piece by Dodici is really awesome. He painted his alter ego, peacefully smoking and looking out to the blue Caribbean sea. He chose the location because he would love to have that same view from his own window at home.

Dodici is an Italian illustrator and street artist that was visiting Bonaire for the Street Colors Bonaire project in November 2020. He stayed on Bonaire for six weeks to give workshops and work with local talented kids and artists.
