Artist Loes Hak came to Bonaire with her family in 2013. She has had many different careers but being an artist is what pleases her best. Ever since her arrival on the island her murals keep popping up. Most are commissioned but some, like 'It's gonna be oke', are all her own. It was painted on a brick cube near the abandoned shrimp farm on the east coast in April 2019, Corona times. The Indian face is copied of a photo a friend once sent her because he looked like he was saying: "It's gonna be oke". That seemed a reassuring thought to Loes because in the end it almost always is oke. Loes says: "I wanted to bring a positive message in these weird times. I hope some people who have (had) hard times, find comfort in it."
