At this address you’ll find two murals although only one is visible from the street. Both murals were made by a company called ‘IkwilGraffiti’ (Iwantgraffiti) that is run by graffiti artists and brothers Wessel and Stein Koning. Graffiti on demand! The wall with the pug on it was their own design but the wall with Marlène Dietrich, most visible, was requested by owners John and Erica.

Erica chose a portrait of the famous German-American singer and actress because of her grandmother. Whenever something bad happened her grandmother would sing a song of Marlene  that goes: “davon geht die werlt nicht under” which roughly translates to ‘it’s not the end of the world’. And in addition to that, Erica thought she looked pretty cool with the cigarette hanging from her lips. The graffiti like background is full of personal messages like their wedding date, lines from favorite songs and highlights from Erica and John’s life together.
