After a successful career in advertising as an art director, copywriter and creative director Henk Roozendaal (1947) moved to Bonaire in 1999.

Painting was always his passion but it wasn’t until his move to Bonaire that it became his profession. On the island he developed his unique and very recognizable style of painting. Together with author Guus Gerritsen he produced two volumes of ‘Portraits of Bonaire’, two wonderful publications with painted and written portrait of dozens of remarkable islanders.
